Young children need a moment to adjust. Wake kids 10-15 minutes earlier to prevent a rushed start. Use a calm tone, cuddles, or a morning song to begin the day softly.
Why? This approach helps children feel safe, loved, and prepared for the day ahead.

Empower young children with small choices in the morning, such as which shirt to wear or which shoe to put on first.
Why? This fosters independence and cooperation, minimizing morning power struggles.

Assist children in setting a simple intention for the day while they get dressed or during the drive to school: “I will be a kind friend” or “I will be brave and try something new.”
Why? This practice enhances self-awareness, confidence, and promotes a positive mindset.

Establish a simple, consistent goodbye routine each day, such as a hug, a high five with a “Have fun and I will see you later” or blowing kisses to each other through the window.
Why? Predictable goodbyes alleviate separation anxiety and bolster confidence for a successful day.
