November 2025 Issue of The Whistler

November often prompts us to reflect on the things we are thankful for in our lives. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to consider how you can give back to the community with your family. Here are a few simple suggestions to inspire you.

🌱 Simple Acts of Kindness

· Make kindness bags – Fill small bags with snacks, socks, and toiletries for those in need. Kids can decorate the bags with drawings or positive messages.

· Write thank-you notes – To firefighters, police officers, teachers, or hospital staff.

· Neighborhood cleanup – Bring gloves and trash bags to pick up litter at a local park or trail.

🧸 Helping Children & Families

· Donate toys or books – Have kids choose gently used items to give to shelters, libraries, or donation sites.

· Adopt a family – Shop together for essentials.

· Make celebration boxes – Fill boxes with cake mix, frosting, candles, and a small toy for kids in need to celebrate their birthday.

🥕 Caring for People & the Planet

· Volunteer at a community garden – Kids love digging and planting, and it teaches about food and giving.

· Collect food for a local food shelf – Have children help sort or carry items in.

🎨 Creative Giving

· Make cards or art for nursing home residents – Bright drawings from kids bring big smiles.

· Paint kindness rocks – Decorate with uplifting words and leave them on walking paths or parks.

· Host a mini bake stand or item sale for charity – Let kids pick the cause.
