December 2024 Issue of The Whistler

As December approaches, it’s time to embrace Winter’s arrival on December 21st! Enjoying this frosty season can be a joy in many ways:

  • Build a snowman together: Let the kids help create a snowman, adding a scarf, hat, and even some decorations found in nature.
  • Sledding fun: Choose a gentle hill for the little ones and ensure they’re bundled up and safe.
  • Snow painting: Fill spray bottles with colored water and allow kids to create designs on the snow.
  • Discover local parks or trails: Look for animal tracks, winter birds, and beautiful icicles.
  • Enjoy winter-themed picture books: Create a cozy reading nook with blankets and pillows for an afternoon of storytelling.
  • Set up a hot chocolate station: Include mini marshmallows, whipped cream, and sprinkles, allowing kids to craft their own delicious creations.

It’s important to be aware of shifting weather conditions. Surfaces that were previously safe for walking could now present hazards. Therefore, stay alert to your surroundings and concentrate entirely on reaching your destination safely, avoiding any slips or falls along the way!
